Road Trip

Amy and I took Sophia for her first long road trip today. The Decatur great-grandparents were pleased to meet her! Sophia was awake in the car for the first hour of the trip, then slept and she also slept all of the way back to Indy. Travel didn't seem to phase her a bit!!

Sophia had her first pediatric appointment today - all is well. These were taken after arriving back at home. She was ready to eat, so the pacifier stayed in. It looks as big as she is!!

Sunday Morning Update

Sunday, 12:55 p.m.

We just returned from a hospital visit and everyone is tired, but doing well. Joe and Amy are in good spirits and Sophia sleeps - at least for today. Mommy is changing the baby's diaper in this photo. Sophia keeps her left hand near her face almost all of the time as you can see in this photo. I think she would suck her fist if it weren't tucked away in the "mitten". Thank you for enduring these first-time grandparents. It's a wonderful feeling!

Birth information update: Weight is 7# 6.8 oz; height 19 3/4".

Our Granddaughter Is Here!

Hello All,

Please meet Sophia May Winters (her middle name was chosen because it was also the middle name of Bill's mother). She was born on Sunday, July 23, at 1:23 a.m. She weighs
7# 5 oz. and measures
19" long. It took her awhile to get here, but Mommy, Daddy and Sophia are all fine. These photos were taken prior to her first "bath". Her hair appears to be light blonde to light brown (Joe was a blonde as a child). Of course, she's wonderful!! It's now 3:11 a.m. and we're heading to bed. Check back for further updates!
